Get ready to celebrate aviation, community, and hands-on learning at the 2025 Tacoma Narrows Airport Day! This annual event returns to the airfield on Saturday, August 16, 2025, offering a memorable, family-friendly experience for Gig Harbor and aviation fans from throughout the region.
Tacoma Narrows Airport Day is your backstage pass to the world of flight. From 9 a.m. (gates open) to 4 p.m., all ages are invited to enjoy a full day of aviation displays, aircraft flybys, interactive activities, and the chance to meet pilots, technicians, and organizations that keep the skies vibrant above the South Sound.
This isn’t an airshow, there won’t be aerobatic demonstrations, but you’ll still hear and see plenty of aircraft movement as local pilots, emergency services, and a host of military branches participate in ground and flyby displays. Get up close to airplanes old and new, watch airport operations in action, and discover the role aviation plays in our community.
Kids and future aviators can dig in with hands-on STEM activities, explore cockpit mockups, or learn about aviation careers from local flight schools and businesses. There will be booths and exhibits from the United States military, Civil Air Patrol, Young Eagles, Gig Harbor based organizations, and of course, the team from the Vintage Aero Museum, right in our own backyard.
As you explore the event, refuel with food trucks and café favorites, including treats from The Hub Restaurant and the Cozy Corner food truck, or grab a coffee at Blooming Espresso. Don’t forget to visit the museum space to connect with aviation history and learn more about restoration projects that keep yesterday’s aircraft alive for a new generation.
Parking is free along the shoulder of 26th Avenue NW, with accessible parking available in the Airport Office and restaurant lots. Admission is free and all are welcome.
